Early preparation is essential

It’s best to assign one individual to light the fireworks. If you’re having a bigger show, you can select a group of people and assign jobs to each one of them to enforce security during the show. It is also important to know the directions the fireworks. Each fireworks have different firing pattern and they need to be arranged in your show accordingly. If you are using fan cakes for example, you need to leave enough room between the cakes next to it for a safer display.

You can secure tubes, fountains, 200g or 500g cakes with bricks, or fill 5 gal bucket with sand around the fireworks if you are lighting them individually. If you prefer to light multiple at a time, you can glue the fireworks onto a plywood sheet to prevent them from tipping over. If you are using artillery shells, you need to make sure the tubes are secured to the ground as the shells would make a huge impact while shooting off of the tube. If the ground is uneven, this may result in serious injuries. Always keep enough distance from the audience in case a fireworks malfunctions. Most fireworks have firing directions and height on their packaging. Make sure you read the instructions before you light up any fireworks, and never leave a child alone with fireworks.
